Stop by the library on Wednesday, November 13 at 6:00 p.m. to hear from author and public speaker Steve Wolf. Books will be available for purchase and signatures, and the Nebraska Humane Society will bring greyhounds!

Join us for an evening of warmth and fun with author, public speaker, and Waterloo resident Steve Wolf.

Steve Wolf has reluctantly left his job and family and moved to Arizona for its warm winter climate. There he is drawn to a local group that rescues abused racing greyhounds. Although he can barely take care of himself because of a spinal condition, Wolf adopts Comet, an elegant cinnamon-striped racer. Or is it Comet who adopts Wolf? Perhaps each has an instinct for self-preservation, because their meeting will alter the course of both their lives.

In Comet’s Tale we follow their frequently funny, often moving journey as Wolf teaches Comet to be a service dog — the first greyhound to be a service dog in history. With her boundless enthusiasm and queenly manners, Comet will play a crucial role in restoring Wolf’s health, saving his marriage, and broadening his definition of success.

Books will be available for purchase and signing at the event. Greyhounds from the Nebraska Humane Society will also be present!
