We have a great line-up of events for December! Join us for movies, crafts, and our biggest event: a cookie exchange and hot chocolate bar, plus with an ugly sweater contest this year! We can’t advertise the names of the movies we’re showing on social media, but we can share them here. So if you want to see if your emoji sleuthing was correct (see our social media if you want to guess), you’re in the right place!

Starting December 1st and going until February 29 is our Winter Reading Challenge! Come into the library to get your Challenge Log!

December 2, 10 am: Tech Class with AIM Brain Exchange. Join us this month to learn Stop Motion Studio. We host a different Tech Class on the first Saturday of every month, so keep an eye on our Facebook to see what next month’s class will be about!

December 4, 6:15 pm: Friends of the Library Board Meeting

December 5, 3:45-4:45 pm: LEGO Club. Let’s build it! LEGO Club every Tuesday at the Waterloo Public Library. Complete the weekly challenge or build whatever you like.  Geared toward ages 5-12, but all are welcome. Mega Bloks provided for ages 0-4. No registration required.

December 5, 12, 19, & 26 at 5:30 pm: Holiday Movie Showings. Join us Tuesdays in December for movies and popcorn! Each week we will show a different holiday movie along with popcorn and drinks. The movies in order of showing are: The Nightmare Before Christmas (PG), Polar Express (G), The Grinch (PG), and Chill Out Scooby-Doo (NR).

December 7, 14, 21, 28 at 10 am: Storytime. Join us weekly at the Agnes Robinson Waterloo Public Library for Storytime, geared towards age 0 to 2nd grade.

December 14, 5-7 pm: You won’t want to miss our 2nd Annual Cookie Exchange at the Library. We’ll have hot chocolate with all the toppings and add-ins, and you bring the cookies! Each attendee (or family) brings 1-2 dozen homemade cookies to share, along with the recipe or a list of ingredients (so folks with food restrictions can make safe choices). Before you leave, grab a plate and create your own cookie assortment to take home with you! Take the same number that you bring. Don’t forget to wear your Ugliest Christmas Sweater for a chance to win the Ugly Christmas Sweater Contest!

December 25: Library Closed

December 30, 9:30 am: Senior Coffee. Stop by the library for free coffee, treats, & conversation on the last Saturday of every month. Open to all over 55.
